About Power Exchange
Power Exchange is a private 18+ adult nightclub at 220 Jones Street in downtown San Francisco, two blocks from Union Square. It has operated since 1996 and describes itself as a structured, consent-driven space where adults connect and explore nightlife on their own terms.
Unlike most clubs in this directory, Power Exchange is open to the public. Memberships are sold but not required; a membership lowers entry prices and adds free coat check, free water, and beverage discounts.
The club serves no alcohol and allows none inside. Its rules also cover BDSM play, and guests accept a play-at-your-own-risk provision when they pay for membership or entry.
What to Expect at Power Exchange
The building has three floors. The main floor and downstairs are open to everyone, and the third floor is couples only except on event nights marked on the calendar. The club describes its play areas as semi-private: other guests can see them, and chains across doorways separate a scene from the crowd.
Do not cross a chain unless invited. The posted rules add no loud talking or laughing during scenes, no soliciting, condoms for penetration, and cleaning up after yourself. Phones, cameras, and recording devices stay outside.
The calendar runs recurring themed nights with names such as Wicked Wednesday, Hump Night, Casual Encounters, and First Friday. Prices can change on event nights.
Who Can Attend
Anyone 18 or older with a valid government ID can enter, including single men and single women. Pricing is set by attire: single in male attire, couple, or single in female attire.
Single men pay the highest rate and face the strictest dress code: collared shirt, slacks or nice jeans, and nice shoes, enforced at the door. The code of conduct gives single men specific guidance for approaching couples. Engage the male partner first, and never ask the female partner to meet alone.
Consent is mandatory. Any uninvited sexual advance brings immediate removal and loss of membership, and violations of any rule mean removal without refund. Admission grants entry, not a guarantee of any encounter.

The price list covers Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Friday and Saturday cost more, and Eventbrite tickets are the only way to pay by card on those nights. Cash is taken at the door every night.

Planning a First Visit
Read the Rules and Code of Conduct page before you go; the club asks first-timers to do so. Bring government ID, cash or an Eventbrite ticket, and a lock for the free lockers, or use coat check for $2 to $5.
