What the Compass does, and what it does not
The Compass keeps interest, experience, and fantasy apart. Someone can find a topic exciting in fantasy and have no wish to try it. Someone else can have plenty of experience and no current interest.
The result is a map, not a score. It carries no percentages, no personality labels, and no verdict on whether anyone is ready for anything.
The full Compass goes further, one area at a time: power and initiative, praise and tone, sensation, restraint, style, role-play, ritual, attention, and shared curiosity. Rate each statement from not for me to strong interest, or leave it blank. Blank answers are skipped, never counted as zero interest.

Before you share your map
- Take it separately, so each map reflects one person.
- Share the parts you choose, not the whole map by default.
- Treat a shared interest as a reason to talk. Consent still happens in the moment.
Questions and answers
Is the Kink Compass a scientific test?
No. It is a reflection and conversation tool. It does not diagnose, measure, or label anyone.
Where do my answers go?
Nowhere. The Compass runs in your browser tab, and closing the tab clears every answer. Nothing is sent to West Coast Swingers or anyone else.
Should partners take it together?
Taking it separately works best. Each person answers without watching the other react, then both decide what to share.
How is it different from the Know Your Kink Quiz?
Know Your Kink scores 130 statements across many categories. The Compass gives an unscored map, from a five-minute quick map to the 100-statement full Compass.
Do I have to answer every statement in the full Compass?
No. Pick only the areas you want, and leave any statement blank. The map lists only what you answered.
